Happy 3rd Birthday, Noah!

Today is Noah's third birthday and I've been very sentimental all day thinking about it. This year, it's different than the past two - I'm not sure if it's cause Kylie is here now or if it's because he's such a big boy now or a combination of those and a bunch of other things. I just can't believe he's 3. Tonight, I rocked and sang to him after we read a book. It started as a joke but as I was singing songs I used to sing to him when he was first born and stroking his hair, I got really emotional and he started stroking my face back. It was so sweet and he's one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

We had a great day and a great week, too! We had another birthday this week also so it was a busy one!.... Going back to Saturday night when we got back from the beach... after we got home and unpacked, we met some friends out for dinner - Josh, Anise, Megan, Jason and Ryan. Afterwards, we hit the store for some beverages and then went back to Josh and Anise's house to hang out. Noah and Ryan caught a ride together....

Since we were still on vacation time, we stayed out fairly late and let Noah watch a movie at their house. It was nice to be a little flexible with bedtime and be able to hang out past 7!! :-)

Sunday afternoon, Waylon's family came over to celebrate his birthday - which was Tuesday. We had homemade pizza and salad and the kids had a blast as always. Kylie is really interested in everything they do these days. It won't be long before she's running around with them.

Monday - back to work and school for all of us. Kylie was not happy about going back at first but adjusted quickly. Noah had fun telling his friends and teachers about vacation and had water play at school on Tuesday.

Tuesday was Waylon's birthday and when Noah got up in the morning, I told him, 'It's Daddy's birthday' and he said, 'Noooo!! I want it to be my birthday!!' :-) Then the rest of the week, he said first thing in the morning, 'Is it my birthday?' :-) We just had a nice dinner at home with a cheesecake wheel and a candle for dessert and presents of course. After the kids went to bed, a few of our friends came over to hang out and play Wii. The original plan was to play Cornhole in the backyard but it started raining. It was a nice change of pace and I think Waylon had a nice birthday.

Noah and Kylie are really getting cute together. She just laughs and laughs at him and is now chasing him around, too. Just the other night, he was crawling around and she was crawling right behind him. This newfound playmate is a good and bad thing for Noah. She's getting into his toys and I don't think he's sure what to think of that yet. :-) But he loves to love on her - which is sweet - but sometimes he's a little too rough.... which is hard to discipline cause she just laughs at him! :-)

Kylie is clapping now, too -- thanks to my dad. Papa kept clapping at her at the beach and when we were watching the guy play guitar on Father's Day at the beach, she just started clapping to the music. It's now one of her favorite things to do and it's adorable. Oh, she also said MaMa tonight!! It was so sweet! I don't think she 'meant' it yet but Waylon was saying it and she very clearly repeated it. So fun!!

Noah's birthday party is tomorrow afternoon and the theme is Cars.... can you see why? :-)
(this isn't even all of them!)

And of course pictures from today....
We started the day with some snuggles and when Waylon said, 'Happy Birthday', his little eyebrows went up and he said, 'Is it my birthday?!'. Then we did, what else, presents! Noah got what he asked for (after he saw one outside of daycare one day) - a scooter! This one has Buzz and Woody on it. Everything out there is Toy Story these days since the 3rd movie is coming out soon. Noah and I are going to go see it later this weekend so I'm excited.

I pulled down Noah's old push toy truck from the attic for Kylie today. It's pretty crazy since he got that as a present from Andrea and Sean on his first birthday - 2 years ago!

She loved it - not great at pushing yet but it's still fun to play with! She looks like such a little munchkin in this shot. :-)

When Kylie went down for her morning nap, Noah decided he wanted to play alone in his room for a while in the middle of getting dressed - he hardly ever plays in there alone. He was having so much fun and I had to catch it on camera.

We ran to WalMart for a few things and got Noah a helmet that matches his scooter.
It came with knee pads, too... check them out! :-)

Outside in the street - he picked this up very quickly and he's really good at it!
So tonight was hilarious. We went out to dinner at Torerro's - a mexican restaurant. They have a funny birthday tradition where they put on a sombrero and put whipped cream on the person's face while singing to them. We told them it was his birthday and they came and did the whole thing. He was not sure at all about it but was a good sport. It was so funny. Waylon and I were laughing so hard! Afterwards, he said, 'The cookers sang to me and I didn't like it at all.' The look on his face here tells it all.... :-) :-)

It's been a great day and a great week and Noah's party tomorrow will be a great conclusion to it all. After Saturday, we don't have too many plans for a while so I'm kinda looking forward to 'relaxing' a little bit. :-)
