Thanksgiving Weekend

So, Noah officially has two teeth!! I can't believe he had them come in this early. Waylon and I looked at our baby books and I didn't get teeth until I was 9 months old but Waylon got his first two right around 5 months. So I guess Noah is following in Daddy's footsteps so far! The sleeping is still a little disrupted but it's getting better. I think the teeth are finally all the way through the gums now, so hopefully he's not hurting too bad. You still have to open his mouth to really see them well, but very soon they will be all the way in and obvious when he smiles! How fun.

Thanksgiving weekend was a blast!! We went to Grandma and Papa's house... my dad has decided that he wants to be called Papa because he really wants to be Papa Ooo Mow Mow. :-) Thanksgiving dinner was, as always, so yummy. Following tradition, our family friends, the Smids, came over for dinner and afterwards we played Balderdash. Noah did very well and enjoyed meeting everyone!

Friday was a nice relaxing day. We took Noah out for a walk, bundled up because it was very cold. We walked down to the school where I went to elementary and middle school and played on the playground. Noah went down the slide (on his back obviously!) a few times which he really seemed to enjoy!

Saturday was our traditional Seafood Feast (Christmas celebration) with my dad's side of the family. Noah got to meet everyone and enjoyed all the action - until the end of the day when he told us loud and clear that he had had enough! :-) We had so much food as always and it was so good!!

We left early Sunday morning to drive back to NC. We were concerned about traffic, but we managed to miss it so that was great. We even stopped at Nana and Grandad's house to visit briefly before coming home.

Seger was in a new kennel for the weekend where the dogs get to play for 5-7 hours/day. He was exhausted and FILTHY!! Waylon had to give him a bath last night. He was basically a totally black dog since all his white fur was covered in dirt! :-) Seems like he had a good time though so that's good.

As always when we are with Grandma and Papa, we get TONS of pictures so here are a bunch more!

Teething?!?!

Noah is helping me with this post!!

So I think we finally know what was going on last week with Noah! Yesterday, as I was giving him his bath, I was looking in his mouth and saw two white things coming up under the gum on the bottom. I was pretty sure I wasn't seeing things but I couldn't feel anything in there.... but today I can definitely feel it! I can't believe he'll have teeth soon! Crazy. This should be interesting for breastfeeding! :-)

He has been sleeping better than those few nights last week; although, sometimes he'll still wake up some during the night. I guess we know why now.

Last weekend Noah went to his first Pie Day! Our friends Kate and Chris host this pre-Thanksgiving party every year. They make turkey and a bunch of pies and everyone brings a side dish and wears very comfortable clothes. We all were surprised that they were still doing it this year because, early next year, Kate and Chris are giving Noah a playgroup!! They are pregnant with TRIPLETS!! Wow! It will be fun for Noah to have some friends.

We are off to Maryland tomorrow morning for Thanksgiving and our Seafood Christmas. It will be a fun filled weekend! We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

A few more cute pics!

Those are my boys....

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted!

We've had a crazy few nights.... our streak has offically ended. Noah had been sleeping so well for several weeks but Sunday night, he ended that. He's been waking up every few hours VERY unhappy. I called the doctor yesterday because it was so odd for him. They had us come in but nothing was wrong with him. He is getting over a cold, so we thought maybe it was an ear infection but the doctor said he probably just doesn't feel so good. So we're hoping tonight will be better but he's already woken up a few times, so we'll see. We've been so spoiled with such a good sleeper that this is a huge shock to us! :-)

Otherwise, things have been great! Noah is constantly rolling over whenever we put him on his back. The only thing is that he can't get back over, so he gets mad when he's done with tummy time! :-) We are working on sitting up now. He's giggling and laughing a lot now, too. It's so fun! -- that is when he's not screaming in the middle of the night!

We're off to MD on Wednesday for Thanksgiving so that will be lots of fun! Then, the Saturday after Thanksgiving is our annual Christmas Seafood Feast with my dad's side of the family. Yummy!! I'm excited for Noah to meet the extended family!

More 3 month photos

So, last night our 7 night streak ended.... for 7 nights in a row, we've gotten real sleep! Noah has slept from 8pm until 7am.... and he did last night, too. Seger was the one who ended the streak. At 4:30, we woke up to that oh-so-beautiful sound of a dog throwing up! :-) Nice. And he sleeps under the bed so that was fun to clean up. Luckily, Waylon took care of that job. Thanks, babe!

On a positive note, Noah has been sleepingn like a champ... at night. We are struggling with nap times. In fact, he's in his crib now playing. I can hear him through the monitor kicking around. I figure quiet time is better than nothing at all though, so I'll give him a little time in there alone.

As of last night, I am officially coming down with a cold. Sore throat, runny nose, headache... fun. I guess that means we'll soon be dealing with Noah's first cold. We'll see. Maybe he'll escape it!

Here are some more of the 3 month photo session with Neil Boyd Photography...
