The aftermath of birthday celebrations!

It was so fun, but I have to admit, I was relieved to have all of our birthday festivites behind us. It was a little hectic trying to get everything ready immediately after the trip to the beach.
Saturday night, after the party, we noticed some bumps on Kylie and she felt warm so we took her temperature and it was 101! By Sunday, she had bumps on her mouth and a blister on the tip of her tounge. Hand Foot and Mouth reared it's ugly head yet again. :-( We felt horrible that we had just had a bunch of kids over and had hoped that no one would catch it... hoped being the key word. Eli and Savannah both have it now. :-( We're hoping no one else gets it but we'll see.
The morning after Noah's party, we still had the bounce house and had to blow it up to get it all cleaned out so Maddie came over to get some wiggles out. Kylie got in on the action this time. She just laughed and laughed at Maddie. It was really cute.
Love this picture.

After Maddie left, Nana and Grandad came over to give Noah his big birthday present - a new car! He was SO excited....

He knew just what to do and took it straight to the road.

Later that afternoon, we headed over to Andrea, Sean and Savannah's house (after much discussion as to whether we should or not since Kylie was sick - maybe we shouldn't have in retrospect). In any case, it was a fun time as always!

Noah and Savannah played in the water and were so funny.... oh the joys of being a kid.

We wanted to catch some fireworks and had thought about trying to see some but with Kylie being sick and all of us tired from the previous day, we decided to just head home. We heard them though! :-)
Monday morning, Waylon painted our new shed and the kids and I played in the pool in the backyard. At one point, Kylie was down for a nap and Noah was occupied playing in mud (!) and I was just laying in the sun reading. It was wonderful! Noah, Daddy and I had a picnic lunch before Noah's nap.
When he got up, he and I took off for a Mommy/son date! We went to the movie theater to see Toy Story 3!! It was so fun. He was very excited and got a little scared at the previews (they were pretty dramatic) but once the movie came on, he was enthralled. He had to take his Woody doll (that Nana and Grandad got him for his birthday) with him to the theater - he's also been sleeping with it every night and at nap, too.

Posing with Buzz and Woody before we left

In line to get popcorn!

Ready for the show!

This week was a short week - especially for me - only 2 days! :-) By Monday, Kylie was already feeling much better and Tuesday she went back to school as normal. She's just developing like crazy these days! She's crawling all over the place and pulling up. Time to start babyproofing again.... her mattress needs to be lowered and we're going to have to put the gate back up at the bottom of the stairs - I caught her on the first step today!!
A few days ago, Waylon was trying to get her to say MaMa and all of the sudden, she did - clear as day! Now she won't stop saying it and really does mean it (although for a little while we thought she was confusing it with Mum Mum - one of her favorite treats). She says that and means it, too.... when we pull them out, she says 'Mummummmmm'. So cute! Today, I went to pick her up and she said, 'Mama' and then buried her head in my shoulder.... so sweet. She also says Dada and was babbling that after nap today!!
The big news from yesterday - A TOOTH!!!! Finally!! She's only almost 9 months old and finally got her first tooth. :-) We'll see if they all start popping in one after another... things might start getting interesting now.
This morning, the kids and I loaded up and went to Jennie's neighborhood pool with Jennie, Megan and Ryan. We had so much fun in the water and the little ones got tuckered out quickly... no worries, a short nap fixed that!

Noah spreading out his Cars towel to rest also
We didn't leave until almost 2:00 and Noah was VERY tired (read: cranky) so he slept well this afternoon.

Tonight, we met Evia, Tim, Eli and Cole at Chick-fil-a for a quick dinner and to return the bounce house and and the tent they let us borrow for Noah's party. The boys had so much fun playing in the play area and are just so crazy together. They crack me up!!
At one point, Noah was having trouble pulling himself up one spot on the playset so I told Eli to grab his hand and pull him up. He did it and eventually got him up. It was hilarious!
Kylie's first bite of ice cream.... she loved it! :-)
Crazy boys - Evia suggested trying a sleepover sometime soon - that would be VERY interesting!!
