Last week we had Kylie's 9 month appointment and Noah's 3 year appointment. We had a great weekend and tomorrow is the big day!! Kylie's hernia surgery is in the morning so we are really looking forward to being through that.
First, the fun stuff.....
Kylie's 9 month appointment was Wednesday and everything checked out great! She didn't need any shots this time which was a nice surprise and she was (not a surprise) a big girl!! The exciting news is that the doctor gave us her 'blessing' to turn her face forward in the car. She's as big as a lot of 1 year olds and crawling and pulling up (good head control) so the doctor said she thought it would be fine. Stats:
Weight: 23 lbs, 13 oz (>95th percentile)
Height: 29 1/4 inches (75-90th percentile)
She also discovered the stairs this week.... and she even made it up 3 of them!! Guess it's time to bring back the gate at the bottom of the stairs!
Last week was my first week back to a Tues, Wed, Thurs work week and I really think it's going to work better for all of us.
So after work on Thursday, I met Waylon and the kids at a picnic for Waylon's new company. They had a company meeting that day and Waylon presented for the finance group and did great! From everything his coworkers told me, he's thriving there and really enjoing it, too! It was nice to meet his coworkers but it was SOO hot out there! Noah had fun playing in the dirt (surprise) and Kylie met a new friend who we hung out with again this past weekend!
A family shot courtesy of Waylon's intern...
Kylie has become really interested in the TV... I'm not even sure if Noah knew what TV was at 9 months and here she is... :-) :-)
Friday was Noah's 3 year checkup. They did a few more tests than they did at his 2 year and it was sweet watching how well behaved he was. They checked blood pressure and also did a vision test. It was cute to watch. They had him identify the shapes that you see in the picture below. He did it without the glasses and then put glasses on that covered up one eye. It was cute!
Everything checked out great for him, too. Stats for him....
Weight: 38 lbs (75-90th percentile)
Height: 37 inches (50-75th percentile)
Saturday was a fun day. Janet, Maddie, and Mason came over in the morning while Waylon and Frank mowed the lawns. The kids had fun playing as always. It was a quick playdate since I had a pedicure scheduled for noon with Jenn, Megan and Jennie. That was a nice treat.
After naps, we went over to Maddie's house for some water play.... it's been so hot (in the 100s). They had a great time playing on Noah's new slip and slide and a fun sprinkler - both of which Grammy and Papa gave him for his birthday.
The guys and the wee ones.
Kylie loved the slip and slide. This was so funny... she just crawled up and down it and loved sticking her head in the sprinkler part. We definitely have two water babies!
Janet and Mason - love his hair here!! :-)
It was all fun and games until Noah walked in front of Maddie while she was swinging. I'm still not sure how it happened but Maddie got a horrible busted lip. She was okay after a little, TLC, ice, and what else... ice cream! I'm not sure what kind of message we were sending to Noah that he got pre-dinner ice cream when he basically busted her lip, but you know..... :-) No, really... he felt really bad and was pretty sweet about it.
Before dinner, Noah and Maddie had a bath and got cleaned up... I had to put this PG picture in for blackmail later on. :-) Sorry Noah!
I got Kylie a few outfits from a secondhand store earlier in the week and I LOVE this one! :-) I couldn't resist the headband, too. :-)
On Sunday morning, Waylon went over to his parents house to work on his car with his dad. When Kylie woke up from her nap, I decided to hop in the car with the kids and go visit also. The kids had fun with a little Nana time (I think Nana did, too)!! :-)
Sunday afternoon, we went to a pool party!! Waylon's coworker, Caroline, and her husband, Mike invited us to their neighborhood pool. They have a 10 month old daughter, Cadence. We had a great time and enjoyed making new friends!!
Noah had a blast yet again and just kept diving under over and over again. He's really getting comfortable in the water and it's so fun to watch!!! He was knocked out again on the way home --this time I was prepared and I scrubbed him down in the shower before we left and put his PJs on.
Today, we ran some errands and met Grammy out for lunch. She came to town to help us when Kylie has her surgery tomorrow. She'll take Noah to school in the morning for us and help out on Wednesday and Thursday so I can maybe work some from home.
Before we left, the kids decided to put on a show for me. :-)
One of the errands invoved getting two new carseats!! Noah got a new one also so we can have two in each car. They were so cute trying them out in the kitchen. Kylie was very happy in there and Noah ate a snack in there - he loves the new cupholder! :-)
And installed front forward!! We tried it out on our way to dinner tonight and she loved it! It's nice to be able to see her, too!
Such a big girl...
This is in Nana's car since ours is still in the shop...
So nbow it's time to get to bed so we can get up super early to get to the hospital. We have to be there at 6:30 and surgery is at 7:30 so this will all be over soon. I will send out an update here (and on Facebook) as soon as I can. Thanks to everyone for your good vibes!
