More ear infections....

Hope you all have had a great week!

We had another follow-up appointment for Noah's ear infections on Monday... they are still there!! We are now on our 3rd round of antibiotics. The doc said two more rounds and then he'll get sent to an ENT specialist. Hopefully this one will knock them out, though. He hasn't seemed phased by it at all though.

I think I mentioned before that his top teeth broke through last week but we've noticed in the past few days that two more seem to be coming in, too. I can't believe he's dealing with ear infections and teething and he's still happy and sleeping well (knock on wood)! :-)

Yesterday was Waylon's Friday off. It's so nice to have a long weekend together as a family every other weekend! Although yesterday I didn't get to take advantage of it too much since I had two fillings in the morning. :-( I think I have some major issues coming from Noah's birth cause I was so nervous in the dentist's chair. I'd never been nervous at the dentist before but I was really scared I was going to feel the drilling. Oh well, I got through it and obviously the issues are well worth it! :-)

Here are some shots from this past week....

Weekend in Pictures

Let's face it, the only reason you all look at this blog is for the pictures and videos... not for what I write! :-) So here's the weekend in review...

Went to see Great Gramma for her 88th birthday... surprised her at lunch (she didn't know Noah and I were coming with my parents). She was so excited and proud to show off Noah to all of her friends.

We went out to lunch with Great Uncle Michael, Cousin Reeves and Cousin Betty (maybe my dad can correct me on the types of cousins Reeves and Betty are to Noah!) :-)

Decided to give Noah a taste of chocolate icing:

What is this stuff?....

Hey, I think I like that!!!...

More, Mommy, More!!

A few other cute shots from our trip to Albemarle...

Went to our friend Anise's 30th birthday party on Saturday night (my parents came back to our house to babysit). Fun times!! :-)

Sunday night, we went over to Nana and Granddad's for dinner.. yummy!

A cutie shot from today. :-)

Lastly, a video of Noah trying to get up on his hands and knees... notice the computer cord under the boppy in the background... that's going to have to go soon! :-)

Big Changes Ahead

I think we are on the brink of something big. Just in the past week, Noah has started all sorts of new things. I have a feeling things are really going to start happening fast..... crawling, walking, talking, etc! Here are the milestones we've accomplished just in the past few days:

1. Waving - this is so cute. He's been doing it for a while but we couldn't tell if he was meaning it or not. Yesterday and today he's been doing it over and over again at the appropriate times. Even the girls at day care commented about it today.
3. Teething - his top two teeth just broke through today. They have been right there for a while but they are definitely through now.
4. Babbling - he's been vocalizing for a long time but it's just now getting to the ga-ga, da-da, and na-nas. He's been doing this a lot in the past two days. It's so cute.
5. Army crawl - kind of. :-) We have movement anyway -- if you put a toy about a foot in front of him, he'll eventually get it. He's also been trying to get up on his knees by flattening out his back some.
6. Reaching (to be picked up) - this is a few weeks old but I don't think I'd written it here yet.

He's also been a lot more giggly recently. It's so fun to just do silly things and listen to him laugh. I'll try to get some of these things on video and post them here soon.

Every step of this journey, I think, 'there's no way it can get better than this'... and then it does!

Pictures from Friday

It's so fun to have a long weekend with Daddy, too! Waylon was off for one of his alt days on Friday, so we had a nice day! We cleaned the house, went to Pullen Park to play and then walked around NC State - that was very surreal for me... I hadn't walked around campus in 7 years. I'm sure we looked like the crazy old people reminiscing! :-) It was fun to show Noah around - although he slept through most of it! Friday night, we went out to dinner with some friends and that was fun, too! Here are some shots from the day....

Ready for his first tour of NC State's campus.

We got the hat at the student store. :-)

Yesterday was a good day, too. We had our swimming class in the morning and Nana and Granddad (Waylon's parents) came to watch. Noah swam underwater this time, too! The teacher held him and pushed him underwater towards me. He actually did a little breast stroke kick on the way over! He really loves the water. After class, we all went to breakfast (again, Noah slept through most of that - he's always pooped after swimming!). After we got home, I went to a hip hop class at the gym. That was so fun! When I got home, I showed Waylon the moves I learned and he laughed at me. :-) Then Waylon went to the basketball game and Noah and I went out to North Hills with Aunt Andrea to shop a bit. Then we met up with Waylon and Cory for dinner after the game.

It's been a full weekend and we still have all day today! I think we'll stick close to home today and relax some.

Happy Valentine's Day

Two dozen roses from her husband and a homemade valentine from her son...

I couldn't leave you hangin'...

...without any pictures. So here's one better... a video of bathtime fun tonight!

His new thing is dunking his face in the water... I guess he has no fear since we've started swimming classes. We need to work on blowing bubbles instead of trying to drink (or inhale) the water!! :-)

Ears and Teeth

So, we finished Noah's antibiotics last week and went back on Monday to follow up and see if his ear infections were gone and they weren't! :-( So, we are on to the next round of antibiotics. I really hope this takes care of it. I don't want to go on like this for a long time and I definitely don't want him to have tubes! We'll see. As usual, though, he's a trooper. He's still sleeping well.... maybe not as great as he normally does but that means waking up at 6:15 instead of 7:00! :-)

On top of double ear infections, he's also about to have 2 more teeth break through. I think it kind of looks like we could have 6 coming in shortly, but I'm not sure about that. Definitely the top two, though... I had the doctor check that out. So he's really a tough cookie. That's a lot to deal with, and he's still such a happy boy!

Otherwise, everything is still great and we are still buzzing from last Saturday's excitment! I don't have any new pictures to share today... sorry!

An Exciting Night!!

BIG NEWS!!

Any of you who know me know that I get really excited about surprises and secrets... and I've had to keep a REALLY good one since before Christmas!.....

...Waylon's sister is pregnant! Noah is going to get a cousin in August. We are sooo excited!! Last night was the big reveal to Nana and Grandad and we were lucky enough to be in on the surprise. Noah wore a shirt that said 'Cousin Noah'. We had a sweatshirt over it and after dinner, when Waylon's mom was holding Noah, we told her to take the sweatshirt off. It took her a while to get it but she was so excited when she did!! Here is her figuring it out....

As if that weren't enough, just after that excitement, Sean pulled out a ring and proposed to Andrea!! So, we have a baby and a wedding in the future!

Everyone is so excited and we can't wait for all the wonderful times ahead!

Fun LONG Weekend

How great is this outfit my mom bought him?! :-)

Well, our weekend was long and wonderful and I still didn't get a chance to update the blog before I went back to work this week!

An overview of our funfilled weekend.... my mom decided last minute to ride down with her friend who was going to visit her parents in NC. Roz dropped my mom off at my work on Thursday afternoon and we surprised Noah by picking him up from daycare a little early... and with Grandma there, too! Thursday night, we went out to dinner and Friday we went shopping! Friday night, my mom babysat while Waylon and I went out to dinner at Peak City. Yummy! We went all out and had drinks, appetizer, meals, dessert, and coffee! On Saturday morning, my dad came down to pick up my mom and we met for brunch in North Raleigh.

On Sunday, Noah went to his first real basketball game (we went to the red/white game back in the fall). Waylon's mom got tickets from her work, so we went with Nana and Grandad. Noah was shell shocked by all the noise and lights - it was so adorable. Somehow, he managed to fall asleep in the last 5 minutes of the game during a VERY exciting game. I can't believe it, but we all forgot to bring our cameras! Noah was so cute in his NC State tee shirt! :-)

After the game, we were home just enough time for a quick nap and then back out the door for a Superbowl party at Megan and Jason's. We didn't stay too long because it was close to bedtime, but it was nice to get out and see everyone.

Yesterday the heat wave hit and we met Keri and Lydia at Pullen Park. Noah played on the swingset and really seemed to enjoy that. He was smiling but also holding on tight. It's supposed to be 78 degrees tomorrow!! What is going on?! It's February!

Today it was back to work. I'm really loving working part time. It's so nice that the weeks fly by and the weekends seem long!

Here are some more pictures from my mom's trip here....

Everyone is saying Noah looks more and more like Daddy! :-)

I just can't resist the bath pictures...
