A beautiful and fun filled weekend!

So good news is that I had time to get some of these pictures uploaded and the bad news is that I was doing most of it while waiting at the dealership having a tire replaced! i went to get my tires rotated and balanced before the kids and I drive up to MD tomorrow (don't want another mid-trip breakdown!!) and they realized I had a nail in my tire! I'm sure glad we found it before the trip. I guess that's our payment for going to visit the new house so much! :-) Anyway, we got it replaced and we are ready for tomorrow now.

But first, a review of our weekend...

Friday afternoon, I picked Noah up early from school for a dentist appointment. We left Kylie at school so Noah was excited and told me we were having a date! :-) It was cute. He was very well behaved at the dentist and they said his teeth looked perfect. It's definitely a different experience only having one kid to keep up with! :-)

After his appointment, we had a little bit of time before we needed to get Kylie so I let Noah choose something to do and he wanted to go to the mall and ride the carousel. So we were driving there and were getting ready to pass Savannah's daycare when I asked Noah if he wanted to call Andrea and see if they wanted to meet us there. I looked over and saw Andrea's car at Savannah's daycare, so we pulled a u-turn and surprised them when they came out! Noah was really excited and so was Savannah. They decided to join us at the mall and Savannah rode with us there in Kylie's carseat. They were beside themselves riding together. It was adorable! :-)

Saturday was a very fun family day. We had soccer first thing and then we took off downtown for Reptile Day at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. Noah was SOOO excited and had no fear at all.

Kylie was interested but from a distance (consistent with everything else - strangers, dogs, etc - exactly opposite of Noah!). :-)
(by the way, this is not Noah in this picture if any of you are thinking it might be!) :-)

This lady let Noah hold part of the snake and from there, he asked to hold all of them.

Someone finally let him

And then he saw someone (an adult) put one around her neck and he asked and asked until they finally let him! It was pretty scary for me and Waylon but, yet again, he had no fear! :-)

They didn't let him hold this one. :-)

Kylie liked these turtles! :-)

Noah did too. Actually, when I asked him at bedtime, what his favorite part of the whole day was, he said, 'Seeing the baby turtle poop.' HA!

Then we went to a fun kid zone and of course, he just wanted to be the turtle the whole time! :-) He kept this outfit on the whole time we were in the room.

After the museum, we went to lunch at a little restaurant downtown and when we were done, the St. Patrick's Day parade was going on, so we sat down on the curb and watched that for a while. The kids loved it and were so well behaved. Kylie was obviously getting tired but she was having so much fun, it didn't matter.

Kylie waved to everyone going by (and even more to so the animals that went by - dogs, horses, etc - yet again an example of how she is interested from afar) :-)

And just some other shots from the parade...

And this was about 2 minutes after we got back in the car at 2:15 :-)

Saturday night, we met Nana and Grandad out at the new house but when we got there, there was a note on the door that they had done the second coat on the floors and we couldn't go in! We were disappointed since we went all the way out there and so did Nana and Grandad but we peeked in the windows and then went to dinner. It was still a fun night!

Sunday was a beautiful day!! The weather was great so we played outside almost all morning and then had a picnic outside also.

Since the time changed on Sunday, we decided to let Noah skip his nap so we wouldn't have trouble getting him to bed that night so he and Waylon went out to run some errands while Kylie napped and I took care of some things around the house.

After Kylie got up from her nap, we took off to Andrea, Sean and Savannah's house for a warm afternoon outside. We took a nice long walk/hike down to the park near their house. It was a fun but a hilly walk and pushing the double stroller was a good workout! Once we got to the park, the kids had a blast playing....

Savannah kept telling Noah what she was doing. Here he is waiting for her to come down the slide because he was screaming through the slide, 'Here I come, Noah!!'

And there she is - at least part of her! :-)

Kylie and Waylon on the playset

Then it was sandbox time!

After the park, we played in the backyard and grilled out. Can't wait for this weather to come and stay!!!

LOVE this picture!!

Kylie had fun playing in the dirt.

After dinner, some more playtime - and dress up! :-)

And surprise, Kylie was like a magnet to the baby dolls. She had so much fun with so many of them! We might need to get her some more. :-)

They made a mess of Savannah's room. :-)

Kylie LOVED Savannah's big girl bed. She's never crawled out of her crib but she has put her leg up to try in there. It might not be too long before she's in a big girl bed of her own!!

Then Savannah decided to join her in there. :-)

And then of course, here comes Noah! :-) They were all so adorable in there together.

Soon after that, we got jammies on and headed home. Noah was asleep within 5 minutes and Kylie wasn't too far behind him. What a beautiful day!!

Today the kids were back in school and I did laundry, packed and dealt with car stuff! :-) Tomorrow morning, the kids and I are off to MD and then Waylon is flying up to meet us on Saturday morning. Should be a fun week!

I always enjoy reading and seeing my little niece and nephew and also you and hubby. You all need to come to Oregon and see your cousins. Michelle and Dave McPherson, they have a farm and farm animals. So much fun. Goats, cats, chickens, horse,dogs.... guess that is all for now, but will be adding pigs? Hope not. Love, Aunt Tensie
