Sunday night, Noah had a date with Daddy! It was Dora the Explorer night at the Durham Bulls game so they went to see her and watch some minor league baseball. Noah was so excited and Daddy had even gone to get him his own glove to take to the game (couldn't find a left handed glove).
They saw Dora run the bases at the beginning of the game but couldn't find her to take a picture but they did find Wool E Bull!
Waylon said they probably sat in their seats for a total of 15 minutes! :-) We thought for sure he'd fall asleep on the way home but he didn't. He was very excited to show me the pictures when they got home and he went to bed super easy that night.
On Monday afternoon, we went to Nana and Grandad for a Memorial Day/Birthday cookout. Nana's birthday was the previous week so we had to celebrate! The kids played in the water for a while and then we had dinner and cake! Ronnie, Robin and Justin, Waylon's uncle, aunt and cousin, came also and it was so fun to catch up with them!

Tuesday it was back to work - a whopping 1 1/2 day work week for me! :-) Wednesday morning, we had another appointment with the pediatric surgeon for Kylie's hernia. Together, we decided it was time to move forward with surgery and have scheduled it for July 27th. We are looking forward to getting it fixed but very nervous about the actual surgery.
Here are Noah and Kylie after school one day - watching TV together. :-)
On Thursday morning, my old roommate, Nicole came to visit us. She was in town from San Diego for a wedding that weekend and came to hang with us during the days. We laid low on Thursday and just went to the mall for the morning - thinking we'd do something fun on Friday, but then Noah spiked a fever Thursday night. So we ended up laying low both days but had a good time anyway. It's always fun to visit with Nicole!!
Friday morning, Noah played in the water some but he wore out pretty quick. The bug seemed to hit him a little harder than it did for Kylie but he was fine on ibuprofen also and it went away in just a few days for him also.
Friday night, Noah colored some and we worked on holding the crayon the right way. He looks so grown holding it this way!!
Some new updates with Kylie. We are officially in the 'something new every day' phase -- she's now playing peek-a-boo....
... and she's trying really hard to crawl. I'm not very hopeful that she'll get it though. We kept thinking that Noah would when he was this age also and he never did. He did the army crawl some but basically just got up and walked at 11 months so it will be interesting to see what happens with her. She still has no teeth!!! -- which does not jive with Noah's history. He had lots by this age and got his first 2 at 4 months! I keep thinking I see them coming through but we'll see. The newest development is that she pulled up on the toy box twice last night! It was very exciting.
Saturday morning was Stella Dot's birthday party at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. It was so fun and Noah was a huge ham -surprise surprise. They had animals and learned about all the different kinds, did arts and crafts and had cake and ice cream of course. Noah was so excited and had a blast!

Digging for animals - they had toy animals hidden in a box of rice.

There are more pictures and a video on Stella Dot's blog. After the party, we had a quick lunch downtown and then headed home for long naps for both kids while I turned right around and headed back out for my friend Holly's baby shower. It was a nice party but I didn't get any pictures!
Sunday was a nice family day. Waylon and Noah took their weekly trip to the grocery store and we got some things done around the house. That evening, we had a fun family night in the yard. We played in the water, played cornhole, grilled and ate on the porch. It was a nice ending to another fun filled weekend.
When we came inside for the evening, we stripped Noah's bathing suit off since he was just going to get in the tub anyway. When he came in, he saw the bottle opener, so he walked straight to the fridge, grabbed and beer and tried to open it!! :-) It was so funny.
