Noah's Birthday Party!

We were happy to get home on Sunday after Julie and Peter's wedding.  It had been a long 10 days away from home!  We didn't get home until close to 6:00 that Sunday, so I took Monday off to try to regroup - unpack, grocery store, etc.  It was nice to have that extra day.

We got back in the groove of life at home that week and Noah also had his 5 year old check up.  I can't remember his exact numbers but I think it was somewhere around 48 lbs and 44" tall.  He was about 75th percentile for both.  Luckily, we didn't have to get any shots because we opted to do that at his 4 year old checkup, knowing he'd be going to kindergarten possibly before we got back to the doc.

That Saturday, we had Noah's friend birthday party at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.  It was so nice to just go to the party and enjoy it and not have to do any prep, set up or break down!  The theme was 'Color and Camouflage' and it was so fun.  Lots of fun activities and even animals for the kids to see!

The sign as we walked into the museum!

Playing with Savannah and Grandaddy before the party.

Cute cake!

Noah was very excited  :-)

First activity - mixing sand to make colors and layers

Saying Happy Birthday to Noah!

Helping the animals find their habitats

Another activity - camouflaging animals with leaves and feathers
Time for some animals!

Turtle was up first.

The kids were a little scared when the alligator came out!!  :-)

Noah loved it - so did Morgan (his friend from school)!

Kylie wasn't sure - in fact, she had been telling me "I don't like crocodiles" many times over the few days before the party.  On the way there, she said, 'There aren't crocodiles at the museum" so as soon as I saw it come out, I knew she wouldn't like it  :-)

And a snake!

Kylie even touched it!

Poison Dart Frog - they were all trying to find it in the aquarium

Cake time!

Singing - I think Noah was a little embarrassed  :-)

So happy!
Then he opened his presents.  Each kid came up and helped him or watched when he opened their present.  It worked well and he was so happy!

Hugs for Morgan

All his friends at the party! (L-R) Fred, Glenn, Abby, Savannah, Noah, Morgan, Ben, Jacob, Kylie

We had lunch afterwards at a restaurant in the museum

One of Noah's favorite presents from Andrea and Sean (I think Sean liked it just as much!)  :-)

Scaring the girls :-)

Back at home - showing off another gift from Nana and Grandad!
What a great party!  I still can't believe my big boy is 5!!
