Thanksgiving Post - finally!

Well, as usual these days, I'm way behind on posting! Life just keeps on rolling, doesn't it?

So back to Thanksgiving.... we got up and got out of the door pretty and were off to watch Waylon run a 5K Turkey Trot. It was chilly so we watched him take off then ran over to the Starbucks to have a snack and drink and then came back to see him finish. It was fun! :-)

Coming in to the finish line. Noah was screaming 'YAY DADDY!!' well before we could even see him. Everyone around us was laughing. :-)

Then it was off to Nana and Grandad's house. We got there early - around 10:30 and just spent the whole day there. Both kids took naps there which was a nice break for us! After naps, Savannah, Andrea and Sean arrived and as usual, the racing began!!

Kylie chases them, too but then has to stop to give Daddy a hug - SUCH a Daddy's girl these days!!! Sometimes she wants NOTHING to do with me (unless she's hurt - then she wants Mommy)! It's pretty amusing. :-)

Savannah and Noah are playing really well together these days. It's so cute to watch them growing up together.

Big hugs for Grandaddy!

Time to eat! It was a pretty short meal (especially considering how long it took to prepare!) but Noah and Savannah were really good with waiting until we all sat down to eat!

Uncle Sean reading to Noah and Savannah - see his little arm around her!? :-)

Attack of the Parham kids......

AHHH! They got him!
We stayed until bedtime and got baths there - that didn't go so well. For some reason, Kylie was not having bath that night! It had been a long day.
We all left full and happy and very very thankful!
The rest of the weekend was a fun family 'staycation'. We stuck close to home most of the weekend and I actually can't remember what we did each day but it was fun!
There was one negative to the weekend - Friday morning (after we put out Christmas decorations - all but the tree which is coming soon!), we decided to go to Monkey Joe's and lunch for a little outing. Well, on the way there, a light came on on the dashboard telling us our tire pressure was getting low. Luckily and unluckily, we have run-flat tires. The good news - we were able to make it to the dealer and weren't stranded on the side of the road. The bad news - it cost us $300 for one new tire! Ugh! Stupid screw. Oh well - such is life, right? Luckily, Nana and Grandad came to our rescue and let us borrow their car for the rest of the day while they replaced the tire.
At some point that afternoon, Noah played doctor and gave Daddy a shot... I love this picture!! Cracks me up. :-)

Noah loved all the Nutcrackers... lined them all up and then asked me to take this picture. :-)
Saturday afternoon, we had some friends over to watch the last NC State football game of the season. It was nice to have a small get-together. It has been a long time since we've done that so it was fun!

Noah and Ryan (and Kylie in the background)

Maddie and Mason even came to play so Noah was super excited! It was too crazy to get many pictures so this is the best I got. :-)

At the end of the night, Jason read Noah his bedtime story. It was pretty hiliarious... he started making up things in the book. :-)
Sunday was so fun! Waylon pulled all the cushions off the couch for the kids to jump on in the morning and then they built a 'cave'. They both had a blast playing in it!

Then we met Nana and Grandaddy at the mall to return their car and Andrea and Savannah came for some playtime, too. Carosel rides and play area!!

Noah and Grandaddy went 3 times!! I opted to stay off and take pictures - it makes me sick to go round and round! :-)

Savannah in the boat

After playtime, it was lunch and naps. Noah woke up before Kylie so he and I went for a walk/ bike ride down to the playground and tennis courts and then he rode his bike around the neighborhood.
Kicking the ball on the tennis court.

We saw this house down the street and thought it was funny. :-)

Noah wanted the cave back again that afternoon. He even wanted to sleep in it (which didn't happen of course) :-)
That night, we put the cushions back on the ground and let Noah lay on them and watch a movie. We made pizza for dinner and cookies for dessert and just had a really fun family night.
That Monday (the 29th), we had our pre-construction meeting to go through all of our options at the new house and make sure we were all on track. It was pretty exciting cause things are now starting to move!! They had actually already started digging the footings that day!!

As of today, the foundation is done and the framing will be starting soon!!! Wow!
I'll have another post soon - just doing this is pieces so as not to overwhelm myself! :-)
