Moving!!

So last time I wrote was just before our big house search weekend. Lots has happened since then. Here's the update on that first.....

First of all, that Friday night/Saturday morning, I woke up at 4am sick and Waylon started with it at 7:00. We had plans to have a marathon house seach day while Waylon's parents kep the kids, and because our time was running out, we decided to still go.

It was a rough day - we kept our distance from our realtor and tried not to touch anything in anyone's houses - but we felt pretty bad. It did make us move through the houses a little faster though and when we knew it wasn't right, we just moved on instead of looking around anyway. Because of that, we got home a little earlier than expected and crawled back in bed (Waylon's parents were still out at a museum with the kids). When they got home, Kylie went straight down for a nap but Noah didn't want to sleep and was relaxing on the couch. Not too long after they got home, he got sick all over the place, too! Yuck! Luckily, it was a quick 24 hour bug but it was no fun for sure.

Anyway, we did make a decision!!! - to build a house in a great neighborhood in West Cary! We are really excited and Waylon's parents came back on Sunday to stay with the kids while we went out to price options and make sure it was feasible for us to do. We signed the papers that following week and it was official - we were homeless from Oct. 18th - March 28th (our temporary closing date - they say they haven't missed a date yet so we'll see!).

So then it was on to the next step... finding a rental for the next 6 months or so. After seeing a few houses, we decided on one in Holly Springs. It's a ranch which will be good for moving in and out, and it has a 2 car garage and a storage shed so we'll be able to store everything where we are living. We gained possession of the rental today but as I was taking the first load over to meet the realtor and sign the lease, I got a phone call from daycare and Noah is sick!! He has a fever and just doesn't feel great in general. Of course we now have to cancel our playdate plans for the kids for tomorrow (we had them busy so that we could move things) so it will be interesting trying to get everything done. We are just taking it one step at a time and it will happen!! :-) The plan (course you can see how our 'plans' typically go) is to move as much of the 'little' things as possible this weekend so that next weekend we'll just have big furniture to move. We'll see how it all goes!

Now for some pictures....

We went for a walk around the neighborhood with Phoenix and Kylie decided she wanted to ride in the car for a while so Phoenix pushed. :-)

Sunday was a Redskins game so the kids got all dressed up for that. My mom got this jersey for Noah last year and just got Kylie this cheerleading uniform. So cute!!

Bath night - couldn't resist this shot! :-)
The weather has started getting a little chilly - especially in the mornings so it's fun seeing the kids in long sleeves and pants. I couldn't resist these shots after daycare one day....

It's so fun watching Kylie's personality develop and Noah's, too. Noah is really starting to 'grow up'. He's reasoning more and really trying to be good. He's such a sweet boy. It's interesting to watch the differences between the two of them. It's hard to tell if it's just their personalities or if it's a boy/girl thing. For instance, Kylie is much more reserved when it comes to the physical things - like walking. Noah led with his head and was always falling on it! :-) Kylie is much more cautious and just puts her hands down when she's ready to stop. It's pretty funny. She is also Daddy's little girl!! Man, she is connected to Waylon. If he's not paying attention to her, she is not happy at all! It's really cute.

Here she is during teeth brushing one night. She loves the water so much! I had her sitting on the side of the sink and she pulled herself right in under the faucet. :-)

So last weekend, we took a break from all the house stuff and I took off for a quick trip to MD. Waylon stayed home with the kids and had some more help from his parents, too (they have been lifesavers through all this mess!). Waylon took Noah to the NC State football game on Saturday afternoon while his mom stayed home with Kylie. On Sunday morning, they went to play with Savannah and then had a nice afternoon at home. I got back Monday morning. From what I hear, everything went really well... might have to do some getaways more often!
Now for my awesome, whirlwind weekend.... I flew out on Saturday morning - the main point of the trip was to go to my friend Ali's wedding on Sunday. Since my parents are out of the country, vacationing in Italy right now, it turned out to be a fabulous sisterly bonding weekend, too! Leah picked me up from the airport on Saturday afternoon and we went down to a little street fair in DC, walked around and had a quick lunch. Then we went to a trapeze class!! She's been taking classes for a while and took me along. It was so fun!! I have a video also I'll try to post. It was amazing!!

Here I am....

And here is Leah - much more advanced!! :-)

After the class, we went back to her place and got all dolled up for a joint birthday party for a few of her friends. They rented out part of a bar and it was a really fun party! We stayed out until 3am.... I have no idea when I did that last!!! It was fun!

With her fabulous friends -
Natasha, Leah, Maya, and Sapna
Sunday morning was a lazy one (as expected after staying out so late!). Leah dropped me off at my parents house that afternoon and I got ready and headed to the wedding with Julie and Peter. The wedding was beautiful - a very laid back event. The bride and groom were mingling before the wedding and then we just gathered outside for the ceremony. It was beautiful!

With the beautiful bride

It was a beautiful wedding and a wonderful quick getaway weekend for me! When I got home Monday morning, I was shocked back into motherhood and home selling/buying madness. We had a handyman at the house doing some work and a mover came to give us a quote and the kids were home with me, too! Madness. :-) It was great though to be home. I missed everyone a lot.
This is how I found Kylie after nap on Monday - no pants! :-)

Cute Jeans!

We've been riding with the windows down and the sunroof open a lot because the weather has been so nice. Kylie loves it!! Noah's not so much of a fan.... more differences. :-)

And here's one last GREAT shot of the three loves of my life!
Can't wait to frame this one...
