More Fun!

I'll narrate through pictures...

First, the aquarium yesterday morning before Daddy left. We weren't sure how interested he'd be but he absolutely loved it! It helped that we were the very first visitors there and it wasn't that crowded even when other people showed up. We brought in his stroller but then decided to just leave it somewhere so that he could walk around on his own. It was a fabulous aquarium. Going to the beach in the off season is great! Noah is now very good at saying 'fish'.

Queue the Jaws music.....

Hmm... I'm not sure about that guy (notice how empty the place is!!).
After we got home from the aquarium, Waylon left to head back to Raleigh and we hit the beach again. We had a nice quiet evening last night. Here is a picture from dinner last night.....

Noah loves 'na-na-nas'.
(Tonight, Hey Jude came on the radio and Noah started singing along!!)
Noah didn't nap well yesterday so he slept in a little this morning... what a difference 45 minutes makes!! It was so nice. This morning, we had a nice time at the beach... except when Noah fell and hit his head on the edge of a beach chair (right on his eyebrow!). Ouch. He was okay with some extra TLC and a little ice. He made a new friend named Delany at the pool, and as is typical for our little lover, had to give her a hug! He's also been waving to everyone... people walking by on the beach, cars driving by, people in the restaurant. He's so social!

This morning on the beach....

After a big morning on the beach, I got Noah down for a nap and my mom and I headed over to the spa for reflexology by the pool (basically a really nice foot rub) and then I had a short pedicure while she relaxed in the hot tub. It was such a nice relaxing time. Noah was still sleeping when we got back but woke up soon after. We got ready and headed to Emerald Isle to check out a few possibilities for places to stay next year, visit a toy store, have dinner, and hit the grocery store.

Grammy wanted to get Noah a new toy at the toy store. We were walking around the store trying to decide what he wanted while he was walking around trying to tell us.

This last one was on the dock right outside the restaurant. If you click on the picture and enlarge it, you can see his boo boo pretty well. Poor thing :-(

So, we are still having a great time here, but we really miss Daddy!!!!

By the way, I've never listed all the words that Noah knows so far... I'll see if I can remember most of them and also in order that he learned them...

Dada
Mama
that (dat)
banana (na-na-na... using the intonation that you use to say banana)
bubbles (bub-bub-bub)
baby
shoes
bye bye (buh bah)
hi (more like Ahhhh, but he does it when he waves)
blueberries (boo-boo-boo)
eyes
uh-oh
more
Papa
ball
fish

I can't think of any more... I'll try to keep a better running list from now on!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Fun in the Sun!!

The beach agrees with our little man. He's having the best time!! He's been so happy... just laughing and giggling almost all the time. Hardly any meltdowns... actually, I can't remember one that he's had since we've been here (okay, just after I wrote this, he had one because we took away my phone that he was playing with - I guess I jinxed it)! :-) He's sleeping great... probably cause he's exhausted from the sun and water!

We've spent a lot of time on the beach and in the pool during the days. Waylon and I went out for a great dinner date at the Beaufort Grocery Company on Saturday night while my parents stayed back and babysat. That was great! Last night, we all went back to Beaufort for dinner and Noah was the perfect angel at dinner (which is a very rare occurrence these days). We are off to the Aquarium this morning.

All in all, it's been a great trip so far! Waylon is heading back to Raleigh this afternoon, so we'll miss him the rest of the week. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!!

Leaving on Vacation!

We are off to the beach tomorrow!! Waylon will come back on Monday but Noah and I will be staying for a week! We are going to Emerald Isle with my parents. We will have internet access, so I may update the blog with beach pictures... I'm sure we'll have a bunch!

Here's a few pictures from yesterday. It was actually cool enough to wear long pants, so I couldn't resist putting overalls on him...

Hey, what are these?

Hey, I think I like them!!

I love my ducky...
Aunt Leah and Uncle Casey got this for me from Prague and it's now one of his favorite toys!

Eating like a big boy... off a plate!! YAY!

Uh oh... we are in trouble! :-)

Football and Friends!

We had a very sociable weekend here! It all stared on Thursday for the first Redskins game of the season... here is a shot of Noah before he went to daycare! Grammy (my mom) recently bought Noah this Chris Cooley jersey to match the one she bought Waylon last Christmas! :-)

After school, Cory and Jennie came over to have dinner and watch the game. We played with Noah for a while and then Jennie and I did bedtime while the guys grilled sausages and started watching the game. It was so fun to hang out with them... it's been WAY to long! Here is Daddy and son in matching jerseys!

On Friday, Noah and I had a great day. The morning was relaxing but fun, he had a nice long nap and then we went over to Kate and Chris' house to play with the triplets. Such fun!! Here is Noah with Brendan and Rory (Maddie was sleeping at this point).

Saturday was the first home NC State game and since Waylon knew he'd be gone all afternoon, he made it up to me in advance that morning!! He let me sleep in until 8:30 which was amazing... that's 2 hours more sleep than we normally get! Then he took Noah with him to the grocery store while I stayed home and took a nice relaxing bath! What a treat!

After he left and Noah woke up from his nap, we went to pick up Amy and Stella Dot and headed downtown to Raleigh Wide Open - a celebration of the opening of the new Convention Center. We transferred her carseat to my car so we could all ride together - it was so cute, Stella Dot and Noah were passing food and books back and forth between them and I also caught them trying to hold hands! Being the responsible parents we are, we went straight for the beer tasting tent. :-) Don't worry, we shared a tasting glass and ended up giving away half of our tastings! Here is a shot of us in the tent. Notice Daddy's little boy....

Noah and Stella Dot did really well sharing food. We actually shared dinner out there, too. They go to daycare together and it's obvious that they know each other. Also notice How Noah is stuck in the stroller... that's because if I let him out, he'd be all over the place!! Stella Dot is so good about staying close. We wondered if that's a boy/girl thing or personality thing... who knows!

When we got home from downtown, Noah went straight to bed. Since Waylon and the rest of the boys were still at the game, Megan and Anise came over and brought ice cream and a girlie movie!! So fun!

Today... another fun day! This morning we all went to Toys R Us and finally bought some 'real' gates for the stairs. We've had those old fashioned wooden ones up until now and they hadn't been working well for us. While we were there, we ran into one of my old coworkers, her husband and her 2 year old son.

This afternoon, we had more playdate fun!! Waylon went over to our friend Josh and Anise's house to watch some NFL games and Kate brought 2 of the tripets (Maddie and Rory - Chris took Brendan with him to Josh's) and my neighbor Janet brought her daughter Maddie (yup, too Maddies) over to swim! Noah is in daycare with Maddie, too, and yet again, it's obvious that they know each other well. Here are some swimming pics...

Maddie loved sticking her face into the water... it was halarious!

They had a great time kicking and splashing... see the video below!

The big pool was a little overwhealming for Rory (left) and Maddie (right), so we filled up this smaller one for them. They will be all over the place like the 'big kids' before we know it!!

A Beautiful Labor Day weekend at the Lake...

...one of my favorite places in the world!!

On Thursday, I got off work a little early and Noah and I left town straight from school! We got to the lake house before my parents even did. It was nice to go ahead and get there early.

We played hard all weekend and are very tired tonight!! There were 10 of us at the house this weekend... the three of us, my parents, Leah and Casey, my cousin Tracy and her husband Keith, and my other cousin Eric. It was so much fun to spend time with the extended family... we don't get to see them too often. They are regular blog readers, so - Thanks Eric and Tracy for coming! It was so fun!!

We had lots of yummy food and Palmatieritas (as my friends have dubbed the Margaritas my dad makes), and of course fun boat rides and playing on the beach. It was one of those relaxing weekends from which you come home exhasted!

Noah likes the boat better and better each time we go. It's going to be so fun when he can really enjoy it... he's going to love the tube and the wakeboard eventually. It's so cool to think he'll grow up with all that lake fun! He still had a very serious expression while on the boat, but this time, he was trying to walk around the boat (no matter what speed it was going!) and loved to look over the side at the water and waving at the boats going by. He's already learned boat etiquette! :-)

Pics from the weekend.....

'Loving' the baby in the mirror (I told you, he's a lover!)
Your so vain... you probably think this blog is about you...
Sorry, I couldn't resist!! :-)
(Jackie, that was for you!)

With Tracy and Keith... this pic turned out so great, Tracy said she's going to start her own blog with it... don't they look like such a happy family :-)
(by the way, would you believe they have a 25 year old son!?)

Noah fell asleep like this on our ride this morning!

On the way home, we stopped by to have dinner with Nana and Grandad, Aunt Andrea, Uncle Sean, and Cousin Savannah! What a fun family weekend!
